There are bible love verses throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament. What can these scriptures from the bible tell us about our lives? Perhaps that our world is sorely in need of love (just as it was during the time these encouraging verses were first written)…….and that the more love we give, the more we have because it comes back to us…….The more often that we give love, it will ripple out into the rest of the world, being passed on and on from person to person in a continuous wave across the earth.
I’d like to think we can change the world by our thoughts and our words in addition to our actions…….Therefore, we should think about the love we can offer each day: the sincere word of thanks that we can give to the people who deliver our mail, pack our groceries, bring us our food, mow our lawns, clean our restrooms at work, teach our kids, police our neighborhoods, put out our fires, etc. We should recognize them as our brothers and sisters, all of us children of God, from whom all love emanates.
Love is patient and kind
Love does not envy or boast;
It is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way;
It is not irritable or resentful;
It does not rejoice at wrongdoing,
But rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things,
Believes all things,
Hopes all things,
Endures all things.
Love never ends
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

- Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you. — Isaiah 54:10
- “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” — Matthew 22:36-40
- So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. — 1 Corinthians 13:13
- “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
- Do to others as you would have them do to you. “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even ’sinners’ love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even ’sinners’ do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even ’sinners’ lend to ’sinners,’ expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. – Luke6:31-36
*[This last one of the bible love verses (Luke 6:31-36) is the hardest to follow: to love your enemies; yet Jesus directed us to do so and to follow the example of God].
